Census information is available for census years 1790
until 1930. However, data from recent censuses are not available
after 1940 because of a 72-year restriction on access to the Census.
Also most of the 1890 Census was destroyed in a
Department of Commerce
fire, though partial records are available for some states.)
Heritage Quest has census information from
1790-1930 as well as 20,000 family and local histories, PERSI, an
index of over 1.9 million genealogical and local history articles,
Revolutionary War era pension & bounty-land warrant
application files and Freedman's Bank (1865-1874).
